I wrote 'Because Crack is Illegal' for all of those moms who need to feel normal and understood. This is a hard job and often times we feel like we are failing in so many different areas. We can lose our ability to laugh during this season because we are so busy trying to be the best at everything we do or cover up the fact that we feel like a train wreck 99% of our day. I wanted to share the wins and losses that I have personally walked through as a mom and as a human in general to show you that there is hope, grace, forgiveness and mercy. This is not a parenting book, there are enough articles and 'Pins' on Pinterest to tell us how to parent, this book is intended to reconnect your heart to God's and to give you the ability to laugh at someone else for once. Your job is significant, you are raising up the future leaders of this world and that is no small task, we need as much wisdom, peace and grace that we can get and we need to ENJOY this season because it goes by too fast. I pray this book blesses you and points you to Jesus.
Not long after releasing "Because Crack is Illegal" I felt lead to write a book not just geared towards just mothers but ALL women in who are in all stages of life, so I wrote "The Struggle is Real." Let's be honest, the struggle is definately real in SO many different areas of our life. Making friends (real friends) can be hard because we always feel like we don't measure up or we are always competing with those around us. Feeling worthy of purpose because of your past can be a mental hurdle. Loving yourself can be challenging. Loving the broken around you can be nearly impossible because they act CRAZY! Fitting into Spanx is like doing a magic trick. Eyelash extensions (I'm not mad at you if you have them, I just don't like the idea of someone so close to my eyeball)? Peeing your pants when you sneeze is a given at some point in your life. All of it is a struggle and we need people walking through the ups and downs of life with us, we can't do it alone.
You matter, there is a plan bigger than you even realize for your life, you are worth love, you are worth forgiveness, you are worth mercy. Jesus died for YOU so that you may have life and have it to the fullest. I laid all of my victories but mostly my losses out there for you to see that you aren't alone and that God uses the broken and imperfect people to do big things. God is after YOUR heart regardless of what you have or have not done in your lifetime. I pray this book allows you to laugh, learn and grow.
